Our wrinkle relaxing injections can subtly smoothen out stubborn wrinkles and lines, restoring a youthful appearance.
WHAT IS IT ?
Anti-wrinkle injections are made of Botulinum Toxin, which is a muscle relaxing agent.
HOW DOES IT WORK ?
When we make facial expressions e.g. frown, smile, laugh, squint, we use our facial muscles. Over time, prolonged used of these muscles cause lines and wrinkles, which eventually become more permanent. In order to move our muscles, a signal is sent from the brain to the muscles via the nerves, which instructs muscle movement . The Botulinum Toxin in anti-wrinkle injections works to block these signals and relax the muscles. This means that the facial muscles become temporarily “immobile” and they are unable to crease the skin.
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED ?
Anti-wrinkle injections are mainly used where there are wrinkles that have been caused by overuse of facial muscles. For example, forehead wrinkles (raising eyebrows), frown lines (furrowing of eyebrows), crows feet (squinting of eye, commonly during laughing),
HOW LONG IS THE PROCEDURE?
The procedure only last approximately 10-15 minutes.
IS ANAESTHESIA REQUIRED?
No. Anti-wrinkle injections are usually well-tolerated without any numbing agents.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO TAKE EFFECT?
The effects may be first noticed in 2-4 days, although it may take up to 7-10 days to see the maximal effect. It is important to note however, that the first session of injections may only give a partial response, which is common. Complete relaxation may only occur after the second or third course.
HOW LONG DO THE EFFECTS LAST?
Most clients find that the effects last approximately 3-6 months. Many clients come for treatment 3-4 times per year.
There is practically no down time with anti-wrinkle injections.
